A Simple Homemade Meatloaf Recipe
There's something about homemade meatloaf that is cozy and comforting. It's one of those recipes that has been passed down for generations and even if you've made it your own it still reminds you of the way Mama made it.

1. Add all of the ingredients to a bowl
There’s something comforting about making meals the same way they were made when I was growing up. The smell of meatloaf baking in the oven always takes me right back to my childhood.
I think there’s value in holding onto some of those simple traditions. Not because they’re fancy or complicated, but because they carry memories with them. And honestly, sometimes the old ways are still the best ways.
I pay a lot more attention to ingredients these days and try to avoid processed foods and seed oils as much as possible. Therefore I am using Primal Kitchen Hawaiian Barbecue sauce and Primal Kitchen Ketchup for the glaze and as an ingredient in the meatloaf.
Although I could have probably found a healthier alternative, I decided to stick with saltine crackers in this one. It’s what my mama always used when she made meatloaf, and sometimes those familiar recipes are hard to improve on.

2. Mix all the wet and dry ingredients together thoroughly

3. Pour into a loaf pan baking dish.

3. Pat down the meat mixture until it's flat and level inside the pan.

4. Then, into the preheated oven for 45 minutes

5. After it comes out of the oven top with the Primal Kitchen glaze and put back in the oven for another 15 to 20 minutes. Then check to make sure the center temperature has reached 160 degrees.

6. Serve with your favorite sides. Fried summer squash is perfect to go with it this time of year.
